What happens when you use the check box
We validate the format of a VIN or plate in your browser. The identifier is not sent to our server or stored here. The button opens the selected provider’s website; you complete any real search there. The official PPSR requires a VIN or chassis number and currently charges $2 online.
Important limits
PPSR says NEVDIS information may be unavailable or out of date. The PPSR cannot be searched by number plate. Tasmania requires an additional stolen-vehicle check with Transport Tasmania. A register search does not establish mechanical condition or prove that every incident was recorded.
